Do you want to lose weight? Really? Or do you actually want to burn fat and reveal the lean and strong, sexy body that hides underneath? My guess is option #2. So stop worrying about the numbers on your scale and start paying attention to your body composition: What is your body fat percentage? How much lean muscle do you have? How are your clothes fitting? Do you feel strong and pain-free?

At HTFU, we're here to make you strong. We're more focused on strength than beauty, unlike all of the conventional gyms out there. Think of us as the alterna-gym.

I'll say it again, this is not your normal gym! We build muscle the old-fashioned way: we earn it. We work hard, train hard and play hard.  And you know what? We get results!

Now, training hard doesn't mean that you have to abuse yourself at the gym, nor does it mean spending long hours lifting weights and doing cardio. What it means is training smarter and more effectively.

The intensity of exercise in most gyms these days is much lower than it needs to be to make any significant changes in your body composition. Most people train in their comfort zone. At HTFU, we'll help you push beyond the comfortable, and effect some real change.

So, if you're ready for a short, fun, intense and supervised training session, HTFU is the place for you. We use ancient and effective training tools that most fitness centres have eschewed for shiny machines that do the workout for you. We use such oldies-but-goodies as kettlebell training, barbells, club bells, sandbags and tractor tires to create a challenging, fun and effective workout.

Our trainers:

Natalie Duhamel, BA, PTS, AKC, is the owner of HTFU Personal Training.  She was the first Agatsu Kettlebell Coach in Winnipeg and in Manitoba.  She has been a member of Can Fit Pro since 2008 and became certified as a Personal Training Specialist and Agatsu Kettlebell Coach in February 2009.  She specializes in fat-burning, strength-building, high-intensity workouts to reach your fitness goals.  Her favourite tools are kettlebells, free weights and body weight exercises that help clients achieve quick results.

Dwayne Sandall is an experienced marathoner and ultramarathoner.  He has been a member of Can Fit Pro since 2009 and will become a certifiable Personal Training Specialist in 2009. Dwayne specializes in bootcamp fitness to jumpstart clients’ success.  He likes to prescribe agility drills and focus on muscular and cardiovascular endurance.
